Progress Your Practice

JULY 30 - AUGUST 6, 2021

TRIGONOS, WALES

Yoga is about much more than the physical practice, but it can still be of tremendous use to progress ourselves physically, provided of course that it doesn’t become an ego driven endeavour; aside from the physical benefits, doing so can develop discipline, willpower, resistance to stress and more than anything, is fun.

Are you unsure of the next step in certain postures? Or perhaps you are aware, but just don’t know how to get there. This course is for the yogi seeking to take the next step in their practice. It doesn’t matter what level you’re currently at; postures will be categorised and broken down into levels, so you can understand where you are going and how to get there most effectively. Ideal for both enthusiastic practitioner and teacher (seeking to expand what they offer to students).

Your days will begin with a long, deep practice, each one different and interesting, allowing you to experience a variety of styles, followed by nourishment and recuperation. We will then return to class for workshops on all aspects of the physical practice, focusing on areas that can be illusive to practitioners… such as splits, inversions (headstand, forearm stand and handstand), arm balances, backbends and, within open class time, whatever you wish. We will also cover advancement in pranayama and meditation and how to relax most effectively. There will be opportunity to ask us for advice on anything and everything.

The days will be full and include theory and techniques for you to take away and apply to your future practice. Despite the immersive nature of the course, we will take a midweek day off, where you can either simply relax or join a group trip to climb Mount Snowdon.

Join us for a week of fun, learning, delicious food (all dietary requirements can be catered to) and unrestricted practice in a beautiful place with likeminded souls. Leave invigorated, perhaps a little sore (in a good way) and with the knowledge and skills to continue your progression on your own.

Postures are not the main focus of yoga, but through working with the body, we can stimulate our energetic layer, potentially release stress & unprocessed emotions, and focus the mind, ultimately finding stillness, & in that stillness our true self, pure consciousness, which abides in peace, joy & bliss.
